Forcing Pregnancy to Control a Partner

A recent study found that 26% of teen girls who have a history of abusive relationships reported that their abusive partners were actually trying to get them pregnant. The girls, ages 15-20, said their male partners tried to control them, either by refusing to wear condoms, preventing them from taking birth control pills or telling the girls they wanted them to become pregnant. In a healthy relationship, your partner will respect choices that are best for you. In an abusive relationship, you may be pushed into doing things that you don’t want to do or that are not safe.
