Take Action In Your Community

Raise awareness in your community!

Make sure others in your school or community understand the problem. With a little effort and creativity, you can make a big difference.

A Los Angeles high school junior took the initiative and co-taught a class on Teen Dating Violence for Asian Pacific Health Care Venture's "Healthy Bodies, Healthy Selves" conference. Focusing on what an unhealthy relationship is and what to do to get out, she adapted Break the Cycle's curriculum and presented it along with a Break the Cycle staff member to a group of her peers and colleagues in Hollywood, CA. She wanted to do it because she felt it was important that young people know what to look out for in a dangerous relationship and that they know how to get help.

LACES' Campaign Logo

Student Peer Helpers at Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES) are set to unveil a grassroots public education campaign in Los Angeles. Designed by the students, they created a message that uses print media and online technology to make other young people aware of myths and truths about domestic violence.

Taking action on a small scale in their local community, these students built their public education campaign from the ground up. They are joining in the fight to end domestic violence. You can do it too!
